Bathroom Interior Style Trends…
We recently renovated our crumbling 1850s cottage in West Berkshire, and planning the bathrooms was, for me, the most enjoyable part of the renovations. When we originally moved in to our cottage before renovations began, we were living in a very old building which had last been decorated and refitted in the 60s/70s. The fittings were old and in poor condition, so dreaming up a bright clean space for my 3 children was such a joy.
I personally chose a bright modern finish for the family bathroom, with a lovely large sky light over the bath for all those long dreamy bubble baths. We opted for modern fittings with a selection of colourful prints framed for the walls, as well as hanging plants and bright bold patterned towels and linens.
Our master Ensuite is a grown up sanctuary with neutral tones and a few hints of the art deco movement. We used heritage tiles from the National Trust Collection, and a large gold mirror to tie in with the brushed antique gold fitting and fixtures. One of my extra large basins takes centre stage on a wooden unit, and we accented the space with neutral toned linens and a lots of foliage and planters around the windows.
If you are starting a project soon, here are a few interior style trends for Bathrooms that can up your style game!
Minimalist Elegance: Create a clean and serene atmosphere with minimalist design elements. Opt for sleek fixtures, neutral colors, and uncluttered surfaces. Incorporate natural materials like wood and stone to add warmth and texture to the space.
Industrial Charm: Give your bathroom an edgy, urban vibe with industrial-inspired decor. Exposed brick walls, metal fixtures, and concrete countertops can add character and depth to the space. Incorporate vintage elements like salvaged lighting fixtures or antique mirrors for added authenticity.
Coastal Retreat: Create a seaside oasis in your bathroom with a coastal-inspired design. Choose a palette of soft blues, whites, and sandy neutrals to evoke the feeling of being by the sea. Incorporate natural materials like wicker baskets, rattan accents, and driftwood decor for a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
Luxurious Spa: Transform your bathroom into a luxurious spa retreat with indulgent features and elegant touches. Install a deep soaking bath tub, a rainfall shower, and heated floors for ultimate comfort. Use high-quality materials like marble, glass, and polished chrome or brushed gold to add a sense of opulence to the space.
Vintage Glamour: Channel the elegance of bygone eras with a vintage-inspired bathroom design. Incorporate ornate fixtures, clawfoot tubs, and vintage-inspired wallpaper to create a sense of old-world charm. Add glamorous touches like crystal chandeliers or gilded mirrors for a touch of luxury.
Eclectic Bohemian: Express your individuality with an eclectic bohemian bathroom style. Mix and match patterns, colors, and textures to create a vibrant and eclectic space. Incorporate global-inspired decor, such as Moroccan tiles, Turkish rugs, or tribal textiles, to add personality and charm to the room.
Remember, the key to a successful bathroom interior design is to create a space that not only looks beautiful but also meets your functional needs and reflects your personal style and preferences.
